My beloved Aiden Turner has been let go from AMC!!!

According to an article on Sospoperadigest.com, "One of ALL MY CHILDREN's most popular stars, Aiden Turner, who has played the role of Aidan Devane since 2002, has been let go. 'After November 6, no more Aidan Devane,' the actor tells Digest. 'I had a meeting with [EP] Julie [Hanan Carruthers], and she said, 'I hate to tell you this, but I have to give you your notice.' I was shocked.' For more, see an upcoming issue of Soap Opera Digest."

I have ADORED both Aiden Turner and the character of Aiden Devane ever since he first showed up in Pine Valley. Even though I didn't much care for his early pairing with Maureen Gorman aka Dr. Maria Santos back from the dead with amnesia, I DID although think he was definitely HOT!!!

Recently, he was paired with nutjob Annie McDermott Lavery and though I HIGHLY DISLIKE Annie, she was tolerable almost likeable when she was with Aiden. I went so far as to hope that he could make her forget about Ryan and become sane again but alas, the writers didn't share my vision for these two characters not to mention superb actors.

I had read in one of the soap mags that Turner HAD planned to make the big move to LA with the show so I just don't understand why the AMC brass would fire him??

Granted, he hasn't had that much screentime as of late but I believe that there is still a whole lot more that could be done with the character who lest we forget is the brother of GH's ex-WSB agent Anna Devane, which gives me an idea.

Ok, Turner is off of AMC and now a hot prospect for another show to pick up. How about GH?? Aiden Devane is a private detective, right?? So, given Robin Scorpio, Aiden's niece and Robin’s husband Dr. Patrick Drake have embarked on solving Port Charles mysteries/crimes (God knows the PCPD can't do it so why not let Robin and Patrick have a go at it. At least then, her Uncle Mac can save face and not have the PCPD mess up yet another case.) Aiden could join Sam and Spinelli's P.I. agency where he could investigate cases with them along with Robin and Patrick. It's PERFECT!!!

But, I bet the idea hasn't even entered the small, Mob-happy mind of Guza. That would mean that he actually took a minute and thought about the family tree of a well-known Port Charles family, heaven forbid <--insert sarcasm here, LOL!

Anyway, after Nov.6, according to the soapoperadigest.com article, my sweet and don't forget sexy Aiden Devane will vacate the Pine Valley limits. He was one of the reasons I have continued to watch the show since every other character is embroiled in some slow-moving, go nowhere, depressed or depraved storyline.

In closing, I sincerely hope another soap (hint: GH) grabs Aiden Turner up. Not only is he a great actor but he is also a FABULOUS piece or eye candy. In total, Aiden Turner is the WHOLE package!! The AMC brass are fools to let him go, but maybe their loss will be another show's gain??
