I just wanted to say goodbye to the many people here who over the past 10 years I've had the chance to chat and debate in a productive way with. However, it has become clear to me in the last few months that the tone and manners on this board have changed and I am leaving it within the next week or so. I am tired of having people call me names because of the pairings I like, questioning my sexuality because I don't like a certain actress or calling me racist because I think another one is pulling a publicity stunt. Further more, I am tired of being harrassed by certain members of this community who seem to think it's funny to make fun of someone with a learning disabilty and talk down to them. In the last few weeks I have been put in this particular position, where someone thinks it is funny to make fun of type-os and question my intelligence when they can't even form a good argument for something, however, when I decided to ignore them they continued to harrass me. That is what did it for me.
When you don't know someone, their history, who they know, what they know, you shouldn't make judgements or make personal attacks. That
used to be the rule of thumb on these boards, but clearly that has changed and it isn't being enforced at all. And I for one refused to pay to be harrassed.
Again, goodbye to all those who have been there for the fun debates, and even those who took character sides but didn't make personal attacks. For you who remain classy in your retorts and responses, I can only say keep up the good debates and maybe one day we'll speak again.
