“I really appreciate this.” Marisa walks into the apartment. She is already shedding her coat and bending at the waist she unzips her boots and steps out of them. There are all kinds of girls who work at the CSMC clubs. Her niche isn’t a huge rack or even a fantastic sense of rhythm. She has a lean athletic build and could basically bend herself into a pretzel.
John MacKenzie’s eyes widen.
“Do you want me to put the kettle on? Do you mind taking off your shoes?”
“Um sure. Marisa, does anyone live in this building?” MacKenzie asks as he toes off his shoes.
“My company is in the final stages of rehabbing it. I ended up coming up here from Atlanta before my place was ready so I’m actually living in a model apartment.” Marisa calls out from the kitchen. She puts on the kettle and then quickly glances thru the cupboards. Tori said they’d imported the idea of putting a tea service in all the new apartments from the new branch in Philly. Even if there is nothing else there-- there is going to be a tea service and a selection of teas. She breathes easier when she finds the set and brings it down to the counter. “I hope you aren’t one of those guys who wants milk in their tea.”
“Straight is fine.” Mackenzie leans up against the breakfast bar. “You never said who you work for.”
“It’s a private company. They have their fingers in just about everything.”
“How long have you been with them?”
“Since I was 16.”
“Summers and holidays right?” MacKenzie seeks clarification. He’d worked for one of his dad’s companies the summer of his 16th year hoping to see more of his father but that hadn’t panned out and the following year he’d gone back to going on holiday during the summer.
“No, pretty much full time.”
“I was tutored. Started with the company after my first career choice didn’t pan out.”
“What was that?”
“Gymnast-- started when I was three. Hit a growth spurt when I was fourteen that drugs and starvation couldn’t stop. It was a relief to get away from it. The day I decided it was done, finally done, went out to the best bakery in Atlanta and ordered a big old chocolate cake—death by chocolate. And then I ate it.” Marisa laughs. “I was so sick; I did. It almost killed me. Mom and Dad showed up to try to convince me to go back to the sport. After all they’d spent a fortune to get me to the Olympic level and I was just walking away… throwing it away?! Oh family drama. Told them they should have been raising me up to be a diver or a volleyball player, not someone whose career is over when they hit five foot six. Could have been worse I suppose. They could have been raising me up to be a ballet dancer. I hear that’s a tougher row to hoe and at least my feet still look normal.” Marisa goes over the stove and pulls the kettle off pouring the hot water over the loose tea in the kettle.
“A gymnast?” John MacKenzie looks at her consideringly.
Marisa shakes her head and laughs. “Why it that guys react that way every time?”
There is a squick of a mag card clearing a lock as the front door opens.
MacKenzie is on his feet and moving toward the front door. Blocking between Marisa and the door.
“Don’t worry.” Marisa keeps on pouring. “The guy we’re worried about doesn’t have a key. Oppa, I put the kettle on.”
“Is good. Is cold outside.” Yuri stands in the doorway to the kitchen and takes off his gloves. “Did he give you any trouble?”
“What the hell is going on?!” MacKenzie looks from the slim Asian man to the girl he’d just met in a bar.
Grant lets the door shut behind him. He notes that it is on a mag key too. In order to get out of this room, MacKenzie is going to need either the mag key or the code. Going down the hallway Grant comes around to the other side of the kitchen to where MacKenzie had been sitting. With a flick of his index finger toward himself he motions Marisa out of the kitchen and out of MacKenzie’s range if he’d decided to make a grab.
MacKenzie is still in a kind of shock wondering what the hell he’d walked into. “What the hell is going on?”
“You are link in chain. And the sooner you tell me what I want to know. The sooner I move on to next link.”
“Do you know who I am?!”
Yuri shrugs. “Do you know who I am? Should we do introductions?” Yuri shrugs out of his coat. He hands it to Marisa and then he pulls his shirt off over his head revealing a life story of tattoos. “Me, I am your worst nightmare. I am the boogie man your nanny told you about to make sure you held her hand tight.”
“Is that what this is about? Money?! Fine then lets call my father.”
“I already have people calling your father.”
“This isn’t about money.” Grant declares flatly from behind MacKenzie. “You have information we want, and that we’re not leaving until we get. You can tell us now and we’re on way. You don’t tell us and we’ll be here until a better clue comes along.”
“Oppa, I hung up your jacket in the closet. Call me if you want me to bring breakfast.”
“Marisa? What the hell?”
“Help them.” Marisa tells the guy who’d played white knight for her. “A girl’s life is at stake and they don’t have time to play nice. Anything happens to her ….”
“And you’re going to be playing pass the soap in a federal prison until you die of old age: Accessory to two counts of felony murder, attempted murder and kidnapping. You have one shot at getting out of this and that’s cooperation… right ****ing now.” Grant lays it out plainly.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re all crazy.”
“Go make an alibi.” Yuri tells Marisa. “I’ll call if breakfast is needed.”
“Don’t leave town without letting me cook for you.” Marisa wraps the scarf around her neck and goes over to the front door. She looks back at MacKenzie. “Sucks to be you.” The door clicks behind her.
“Justin Leonard.” Yuri tells MacKenzie.
“Justin Leonard-- a loser at one of your card games.”
“Do you think I keep track of losers?”
“Yes, because you want to get paid. Justin Leonard.” Yuri says again. He moves in closer.
Mona spots Tori first at Logan and grabs Bruno’s arm to steer him and Frankie in the other woman’s direction. Mona and Tori had worked together on setting up the online portfolio for CSMC Philly and stayed together out at Jeff Brown’s house when they’d been putting the project together. Mona can read the stress on Tori’s face and pulls the other woman into a strong hug. “If we could have gotten out and pushed to make the plane go faster, we would have.”
“I know. I’m just glad you’re all here.” Tori includes Bruno and Frankie in the greeting. She’d met Bruno a number of times out in LA when dealing with Talent issues and Frankie is a familiar face because of how tight Fancy and Twink are.
“Mouse didn’t have any word when we checked in an hour ago.” Bruno puts a hand at the back of each of the women and starts toward the doors. He knows that Tori is parked in short term parking probably with a driver sitting right there in the driver’s seat waiting for them.
Tori nods. “Narin is out of surgery but they aren’t expecting him to wake up for hours and the doctor was being kind of cagey about the whole thing-- like he’s acting like Narin is going to have to go back in. The bullets are out but Narin’s not going to be looking for Twink anytime soon.”
“He’s tough.” Bruno says reassuringly. “Yuri?”
Tori shakes her head. “He’s out with Grant Ellis. He isn’t checking in with me. There is a guy named Jesus Ramos who works for CAT5? He’s a new hire, administrative assistant, someone in Nitty’s office. He’s being point as far as contact with Yuri. He’s reviewing all the information that was taken out of Justin Leonard’s things and looking for any clues there. At this point though I think he is just entering data and Mouse is doing the analysis. But Ramos would know where Yuri and Ellis are right now because they are checking in after they finish the sweep of whatever the hell they are doing.”
On the same flight with Lydia and AJ.” Tori has no problem calling one of the richest women in the world by her first name. She’s had more than one conversation with one or both of Twink’s parents when they were trying to set up a surprise for their daughter or Narin. “They are still about 12 hours from LA.”
“It would be nice to give them some good news when they land. Maybe give Lydia a break and time to go to fashion week next month with Baby.” Bruno hands the two women into the backseat of the waiting town car and gets into the front passenger seat—shotgun before Frankie can. He gives a nod to the driver who nods back and pulls out of the space on their way back to CSMC –Boston.
“I’ve cleared the Talent building out.” Tori tells Mona. “I know my security guys are more for visiting acts and not making a front page drama but they are still CSMC –security and they’re ready to go. Bill is at the hospital with his mother waiting on Narin but Tulane, his roommate…”
“The one who has been making those kick ass videos of Twink going after congress and the oil companies?” Frankie asks.
“That’s him. He made sure that all of Justin’s stuff was copied before Yuri showed up and then brought all the information to the CSMC –talent building. That way Drew could hang at the house and deal with The FBI.”
“Little bird told me that Greene is in charge of the FBI?!” Bruno glances over his shoulder at Tori.
“Yeah. He is. Ellis tried to tell his boss that was a bad idea and then went on vacation and called Yuri. Ellis’ partner Chris Holmes has been keeping pretty close to the hospital. He wants to be there when Narin wakes up. We’re getting a little information about the formal investigation but just his side of the conversations. Do you think Baby and Mouse are going to be coming down?”
Bruno shakes his head. “No. And not just because Greene is here. Greene is a factor. If Baby showed up that would just feed Greene’s delusion that it’s all about CSMC.”
“Why won’t that guy pull his head out of his ass?!” Tori explodes impatiently. “Twink isn’t CSMC. She has never been CSMC! She’s just a kid.” The tears she’s been stuffing for the last six hours finally can’t be held back.
Mona unfastens her seat belt and pulls Tori into another hug. “Shh… shh… we’re here now. You’re not handling this on your own. We’re going to find her.”
“The FBI won’t listen and the local police… they can’t do anything because the FBI is in charge. Ellis basically had to quit his job to keep looking. And we still haven’t found the ****ing van! I wasn’t hired for this. I wasn’t hired for this. I’m supposed to be managing a music company.”
“I know. I know.” Mona keeps petting Tori and patting her on the back. “But Ellis did quit. And Yuri is out looking and he’s very good at this. And Bruno and I are here now to help. Narin’s out of surgery. It’s okay. You can breathe now. Help is here. You’re not alone now. Situation still sucks but we’re in this together right?”
“This is Anders job not mine.”
“Anders is doing his job. He’s on the plane with Lydia.” Bruno says from the front seat. “Love that woman but right about now I’d rather be in a cage with a grizzly than around Twink’s parents. Karin and Mark?”
Tori wipes at her face. “I should just post a guy at the airport. They are going to be here in about 90 minutes. Mark tried to talk her out of it but Karin wasn’t hearing anything.”
Mona nods. “Sisters. They may fight like cats and dogs but nobody is allowed to mess with Twink but Karin.”
“Get whatever passes for a presidential suite around here and put Mark and Karin in it. Don’t want them near CSMC right now. And cupcake has always drawn the press. Probably what she intends… let the kidnappers know who to contact and where. I thought Edward was here?”
“He is, but he is at the hospital.” Tori nods.
“He’ll need a room there too. You’re right, Tori. They aren’t CSMC and we need to keep that as separate as long as we can. The FBI will never buy it but it’s our ace in the hole with the kidnappers. Unless maybe Leonard let that one slip.”
“Who knows.” Mona says with a sigh. “We just do what we can do, even the impossible and get Twink home.”
“Got you, you little son of a bitch.” Mouse mutters as he narrows in on a van abandoned under a bridge. He manipulates the camera to verify what he already knows. That is the van that had been used to transport Twink. He sends the location to Jesus Ramos but he is already moving on from there identifying the cameras in the area that would have had a view of the van. Now he just needs to find out when it was dumped and what vehicle had been used for the next leg. It had taken too long to find the van and he’s kind of pissed about that. He figures that the van was dumped within about an hour of the grab and now he has to backtrack on all those cameras to find the next vehicle.
“What is it?” Baby rises from where she’d been working to come over to Mouse’s desk.
“The van.” Mouse’s fingers are already flying as he isolates the cameras that would have had a view of the roads leading up to the dump site. “Now I just need to get the vehicle they moved into. Hopefully this next one will actually be hooked to them rather than stolen plates but it will at least give us an idea. If I can find the damn thing.”
“Have you already told Yuri?”
“Sent the information to the kid that is coordinating for Yuri already. He’ll get it when he checks in. Marisa checked in. Yuri and Ellis were about to have a discussion with John MacKenzie. My info is probably five hours old. Yuri might be able to cut to the front of the line.”
Baby stops reaching for her phone. “Damn it. I hate when you have a point. So what can we do?”
“You get the feeling that HSA was just playing nice ‘cause they had to?” Mouse looks over at Baby.
Baby nods. “So if I got hold of Ellis’ partner with the information.. you think he might take a head start before notifying the FBI?”
“I’ll leave that in your hands. You’ve always had more of a touch than I. Maybe by the time you get done with him… Yuri will have checked in with a lead from MacKenzie and then you’ll have to work your magic on his father. Hopefully, Yuri won’t have killed him to get the information.”
“Mouse, Yuri isn’t going kill MacKenzie.”
“He’s got the tats to prove he would.”
“Yes, but dead men don’t talk. Which is why things are moving so slowly now. If Leonard was alive we would not have had to talk to MacKenzie at all.”
“He hasn‘t woke up yet. The doctors say it could be hours yet. We’re just feeling relieved that he made it out of the surgery.” Skye tells the caller on her phone. She’d stepped out of the family room to a mostly frozen patio where the phone reception is better but where she can still see the family room in case medical staff came to give an update like maybe Narin was being moved to his own room. “Mark wasn’t able to head off Karin. They’ll be arriving soon. Yes, Edward is here with me. Cole too. Baby, I’m not the chess master that your uncle is. I don’t think I’m going to be able to convince anyone of anything if it means leaving the hospital. Being close to Narin is the closest he can be to Twink. Maybe once Karin gets here, she’ll be able to convince him. Okay. Let me get him.” Skye goes over to the glass of the family room and taps on it. Bill looks up. When Skye sees she has his attention she points at Chris Holmes.
Bill nods and getting to his feet goes over to the Homeland Security Agent. “My mom wants to talk to you out on the patio.”
Holmes goes outside, zipping up his jacket as he steps out into the frigid air. “Mrs. Radcliffe?”
Skye holds out the phone. “It’s for you.” She hands the phone to Holmes and then goes back into the heated family room.
“Agent Holmes. The van you are looking for is on the access road to the Salt and Pepper Bridge.” Baby gives the exact address with cross streets. “We found the images about ten minutes ago so it’s still a hot find although it has not been confirmed in person so you might want to check it out yourself. I hope you will keep Agent Ellis in the loop. And don’t forget to give this phone back to Mrs. Radcliffe.” Baby hangs up.
Chris walks back into the family room. He hands the phone back to Skye. “Please call me if he is able to have a visitor and if he says anything…”
“I’ll record it.” Skye nods.
“Who was that?” Chris indicates to the phone.
“A reliable source. I’d go to print with it.”
Chris nods. “Don’t know when I’ll be back.”
Skye reaches for a magazine. “I don’t think I have to tell you to take pictures of everything because I have no idea what kind of access the FBI is going to get you after you turn over whatever she gave you to them.”
“Nah. You don’t have to tell me.”
“And that is why she called you.” Skye watches him as he leaves.
Cole comes over and sits next to his wife. “What was that all about?”
“Mouse found the van.”
Yuri uses a towel to wipe off his hands. He planned on taking off his shirt anyway, not want to get blood on it. It’s not like he’d packed for an extended stay. He picks under his nails to get the dried blood and skin out from under. “They say that torture doesn’t work. Is true.” Yuri says calmly. “This is why you encourage and verify.”
“Encourage. Never heard it called that before. Enhanced interrogation techniques, I’ve heard it called that before.” Grant comments grimly. He knows that HSA has participated in such encouragements in the past but the Georgetown lawyer in him wants MacKenzie to confess all he knows so that they can move on to who actually has Twink.
“This is why I am glad I am here with someone who is not FBI. They’re pansies really. With their rule books and their group think. There are a few who are good but as a group… not so much.” Yuri shrugs. “This is why I get call. People are afraid of getting their hands dirty. What is dirt? What is a blood? A little soap, a little water—good as new. This one’s father may hire me someday to find him.” Yuri makes sure that he has John MacKenzie’s attention. The younger man has a shiner beginning to turn color, a fat lip and probably a few teeth that are looser than when he’d walked into the apartment. “When I think of this…I think maybe this is advertising … what do you think? I should send him back to his father with maybe a pinky missing… who needs a pinky? It would show him what I would do to someone who kidnaps.”
“What do you call this?” MacKenzie spits blood on the kitchen floor.
“Encouragement and advertising. You aren’t paying attention.”
Grant looks down at a text message. “The name he gave matches the license plate on a car leaving where the van was dumped.”
“And that is verification. Good. Good. Now you are going to tell me every address and every name of every person associated with John Parker. And you’re not going to leave any one out because you want us to leave and go talk to them.” Yuri reaches out and holds MacKenzie by the chin to tilt his head back so that he is looking Yuri in the eye. “You need to know that I can do this all day, tomorrow, the day after that. You’re making me do this to you. You gave the name of a stupid teenage boy to thugs to collect the money he owed. And he offered up the one thing that he had of value, and that was a connection. But I can do the same thing.” Yuri smiles. “I can find those same connections and offer them-- you. You have plenty of money and your father is right here in town not out of the country. I can make deal with them… da… that’s the ticket. I give them you, and I get Twink back. What do you think? You’d be saving the girl. Big hero.”
“I didn’t kidnap anyone!” MacKenzie protests.
“Keep singing that tune, Silver Spoon.” Grant sneers. “You were running an illegal gambling organization… and yeah, maybe you legacy types might get by on the boys will be boys right up until you start giving your collections to people who are building a body count. You’ve been committing felonies, and your felonies have led to people being dead. You taking any law classes at that fancy school of yours?! Because that’s pretty much the definition of felony murder and that is a needle in your arm. Your father isn’t going to be able to buy you out of this one.”
“Is true.” Yuri says companionably. “Because your father will have to decide between you and his money. Because if he gives any money to you… then the girl’s parent will dismantle everything he owns. You hear this story, da?” Yuri looks over at Grant.
“Barrett Industries. Yep.” Grant agrees. “I heard it was a long weekend… Barrett ticked off the Quartermaines on a Friday and the company was in pieces by Tuesday.”
“Is true. These rich people are strange. I had a deal to get a son back from kidnappers in Kuwait … the dad wanted to dicker about the ransom. Like I hadn’t already gotten it down?!” Yuri shakes his head. He holds up both hands only folds over the pinkie on one. “He still came home…mostly. And my fee was increased for the interference. Who will your father protect… you or himself? And your mother? If she finds out about this… I think maybe first call is to her shrink for a little leveler. She doesn’t deal with stress well.”
“Leave my mother out of it.” MacKenzie growls.
“That’s up to you.” Yuri says softly. Tell me everything you know about John Parker—addresses, phone number, associates, vehicles. Does he like hunting, fishing, does he have property out of town. I find the girl and I don’t have to come back and ask more questions.
The elevator hadn’t been moving fast enough. Karin comes out of the stairwell on a run the only reason why Mark is behind her is because he’d grabbed the door for her on the way out. Karin looks around and sees her Aunt’s dark red hair and barely slows down. “How is he?” She demands as she bursts into the room. She crosses to give Skye a hug and quickly moves on to Grandpa Edward. When she is giving Uncle Cole his hug, Cole grabs on to her and hugs her close to him and then keeps an arm on her to keep her close and from going on like a dervish. He doesn’t even want to think how it was on the airplane with her. He holds her still so that she can see both Skye and Edward.
Skye nods. “Narin made it out of surgery. They have him in ICU and aren’t really talking about moving him to his own room. They’re still concerned about bleeding issues. The nurse said they were going to start letting people sit with him for ten minutes an hour but they were going to wait until he woke up from the surgery before letting that happen.”
It’s like someone cut the strings on Karin as her knees go soft and her eyes fill with tears that are going to fall.
Cole had figured this one was coming. The reality of Narin in the hospital, post surgery for bullet wounds and still fighting for his life is enough to scare these Karinen kids to death. Nothing stopped Narin, and yet their hero had just become mortal. Knowing how bad things are for Narin just made not knowing what was going on with Twink that just much scarier. “Come on. Come sit down. You know you’re going to be the first one to see him unless Grant and Yuri find Twink first.” Cole leads her over to a couch and with a nod of his head gets Edward on the other side of his great grandchild. Skye comes around to the other side taking so that Karin is in the middle with Edward on one side of her and Skye on the other. Cole looks over at Mark who gives him a head tilt to the frozen patio. Cole nods.
The door is barely shut behind them when Mark demands. “What the hell happened?!”
Cole lights up a cigarette. “A parent’s worst nightmare.” He takes a drag. He is definitely going to be having more than three a day and he doesn’t think that his wife is going to give him a ration on this. “They ambushed Twink coming out of the gym this morning. Killed the cab driver she normally uses and used that cab as the trap. Lurch is dead. Grant Ellis found Narin outside of the gym. Narin had managed to call him. He stuck with Narin until he went into surgery. Greene is in charge of the FBI taskforce.”
“You’re kidding right? That’s the guy that planted bugs on Morgan’s headboard down in Miami before Bunny’s baptism. Everybody knows he’s a nutcase who sees CSMC around every corner.”
“Well they aren’t talking to us. Not yet. They might be coming at Karin to be the face of the family until her folks arrive. Chris Holmes had been sticking pretty close but left when they found the van dumped.”
“Homeland Security. He works with Ellis; Ellis put himself on vacation basically as soon as Greene took over the investigation.”
“You said Grant and Yuri?”
“They’re working together now trying to track down leads. CSMC is providing security to make sure that the press stays away until we need them. But CSMC is staying out of it too, other than Yuri—he said something about if there is a trail he doesn’t want it getting muddied by too many people in the mix. If he hasn’t found her by the time Lydia hits LA then more CSMC is going to be hitting the ground looking. Edward got Tracy on board up in Port Charles. There is going to be some press releases about some bull**** that ELQ is doing that is going put Tracy out there make sure the press releases mention the family connection to Twink, AJ and Lydia. Mouse is monitoring communications as well as trying to get clues for Yuri and Grant. Don’t know if the FBI is waiting for Lydia and AJ to do the same thing, to get them here. But I figure that’s just giving the kidnappers an 18 hour head start.”
“What do you need me to do, Uncle Cole?” Karin asks from the doorway. She is hugging herself to try to stay warm.
“You need to stay here until we find Twink. You, Michael and Twink are the closest thing Narin has to kids. If the FBI needs a family face so that the kidnappers have someone to contact… well your Aunt Tracy is already working that up in Port Charles and Edward will handle it here until your parents arrive.”
Karin nods and goes back into the family room.
“Now what aren’t you saying?”
“The doctors aren’t telling us everything. Even Skye’s brother in law Robert has started getting tight lipped. The surgeon was one of those god types but even in the he came thru surgery speech he was making setting the ground work that this might have been the first of Narin’s surgeries rather than the last.”
“Two bullets. They’re probably trying to give him time to get his strength back.”
“Maybe I don’t think that Narin is immortal but he’s tough. The guy kicked my ass.”
“I remember. I also remember that was eight years ago.”
“Why are we doing this again?” Travis Montgomery takes off his leather gloves and slides them into his pocket and puts on thin latex gloves.
“Because patients lie.”
“Narin is no condition to be lying to anyone.”
“But that doesn’t mean that he wasn’t lying to Twink and everyone else.” Dr Robert Chase replies. “I’m a little rusty at this. Normally I have my students do it.”
“You know this is an active crime scene right?” Travis reminds his stepfather.
“I have the victim’s keys. And I’m sure the cops aren’t going to mind.”
“Who broke the window?”
“Your Aunt Skye-- She didn’t tell you that part?” Chase grins at his stepson. “It was the same time as Narin was being transported and the cops didn’t know for sure if Twink was kidnapped or maybe here. Skye picked up a rock and threw it thru the front window right in front of the cops. Look I think someone might have been trying to break in.”
Trav shakes his head. “You know the most interesting of family stories always seem to be Aunt Skye and her kids.” He gets serious. “But I could do without this one. Chase…”
“I’m a doctor not a cop. I know what is front of me on a table or under a screen. I wouldn’t know the first thing about finding Twink.”
“Yeah. Me either.” Travis admits
“The only way we can help right now is find out what is going on with Narin, and give him the maximum chance of recovery.” Dr Robert Chase puts on the latex gloves and goes up to the closed door. There is already a sheet of plywood over the broken window. He and Colby live in a property outside of Boston and he normally takes the train in but Travis lives in Boston in a CSMC apartment. He knows that Tori will probably have the window fixed by this evening, tomorrow at the latest. Using Narin’s keys that he’d taken out of the man’s property at the hospital, Robert Chase opens the door and turns on the lights. “You’ve been here before?”
“Plenty of times.” Travis nods. “Twink’s the top floor. Narin’s the second floor. Common rooms are on the main floor. Twink’s a slob… Narin doesn’t go into her space, she doesn’t go into his. He gets on her if it starts heading down the stairs but otherwise lets her be. Narin does most of the cooking but they do a lot of meals together.”
“So if he was trying to hide something from her it would be on his floor.” Chase confirms. “We’ll start there. You take the bathroom. I’ll take the bedroom. And just because you found something doesn’t mean you stop looking. We aren’t looking for one thing we’re looking for everything.”
does this mean I'm back on a schedule? Well here is hoping. *Magic bullet... that's about the fact that before my holiday there were only two bullets then while Narin was in surgery after my holiday they evidently found another one. So I'm clarifying... two bullets. Just two. the other is a magic bullet that has again disappeared. <sigh> This is what I get for posting without having Claire edit. Deb
