It really was the two of them saying goodbye and it was super sad for me. I've never really been much of a SBu fan but I have always loved the Sason friendship.
Things that bother me right now - I feel like Steve leaving obviously caused major rewrites. I don't think that AJ (if that is indeed who SK is back as)returning was planned until Steve gave them his decision. Therefore, it feels like whatever was originally planned for Sonny, Skate, Sonny's business, family, everything changes in order for them to do this stupid rumored unwanted story with Duke and AJ. I also feel like the uncertainty of GH future is given too much thought by these writers - tell the frickin story you mean to tell and stop hedging your bets so you can change everything for the finale. I feel like they are stalling SKate on purpose because they would like for S&B to be the endgame. The problem is not allowing Sonny to have happiness with Kate because they want to leave the door open for flaky Vanessa to return, nope, I'm just so over that. If GH IS going to end sometime next year, then please, in the name of all that is holy, can Sonny please have some happiness with a woman that loves him? I mean seriously, starting with ruining S&C by having Carly fall for Alcabarf, there hasn't been a sustained happy couple pairing for Sonny since then, it's been nothing but angst. They can create whatever stupid contrived chaos they want with unbelievable big bad AJ and Megamind Duke, just let Sonny have a woman who loves him, fights for him, will take on the world with him - I really don't think that's too much to ask for 20+ year show fans who love Sonny.
