I wasn't watching live during that time. I started in late 98 and didn't start watching the full show until late 99. I was use to the "hero worship" in some ways of the mob and the evil Q's. Now going back and seeing edits... WOW. Totally different show in a lot of ways and a better one. I started back to when Carly (who was my fave) started and seeing how she treated her friend AJ is just awful. Seeing how stupid he was to believe her and not come forward was crazy. She did AJ terribly wrong and I still loved Carly as Sarah was so good and I felt her desperation but damn she screwed AJ who was nothing but nice to her 99% of the time.
Then a huge shift happened and it became Carly the victim and that's where it shifted the whole dynamic of the show. AJ was now super evil for wanting his son, Tony was evil for wanting rights to a child that may be his. It was crazy how that switched and Jason was the savior. It truly changed how the whole show viewed a lot of good and bad. I mean that really seemed to happen when Jason joined the mob but it went into overdrive during this story.
