very passive. Life is too short and there are so many choices about the way we spend our time. The people I know personally who still watch a soap (including myself) watch because they still enjoy it.

Those are people YOU know. Some people I know are fans of the genre continue to support because they hold on to hope that it will get better. My Aunt doesn't enjoy B&B like she once did but she still watches. After her work is done and the kids are in school it is her half hour of her time to waste as she sees fit. She is in no way passive or pathetic.

I don't understand why it is so hard for people who hate a show to just stop watching it. But even worse is people who want a show cancelled SO they can stop watching it, regardless of the fact that many others still enjoy it. I get that they want to see a show punished with cancellation. But I don't understand people who can't just quit watching out of habit.

Many people have trouble breaking all sorts of habits but I guess many are pathetic except you?
