AJ was the victim.

And for all that time....he got nuthin and S+C and Jason all got halos on their heads! "She's braveandstrongandloveswithherwholeheartCarly...Meh, don't make me throw up.

And Sonny's a mob boss, with all that entails.
Jason was his hitman and killed people for a
living too.

So after eight years, AJ snapped, and paid them back in spades. Kidnapped children. Shot his father.

Michael got some shocking midterm damage from that, and couldn't speak for awhile...and yet...he's willing to try to reconnect. He's the one who was hurt the most and he gets to be the one to decide whether AJ's worth the time.

AJ was hurting about losing Michael for longer than SCJ did over the kidnapping of those kids...timewise AJ wins on the anguish scale.
