People who hold interventions for alcoholics are not trained medical people either, it is a means to try and reach them so they seek help themselves. He brought in a psychiatrist who couldn't handle her. We all saw her finally have a break through and tell Sonny what triggered the DID. That was progress until Michael entered and he did not say Michael was at fault he was explaining what happened before he arrived.
This is nothing like an intervention. Sonny was the only one there controling the environment. It was not a safe environment and Connie had every reason to fear for her safety. Sonny was the only person involved holding all the control and all the cards. This was not an emotionally safe and secure place. And yet, he had an expectation that Connie should just go along with his program.
To say Sonny is doing this all to get her in bed is ridiculous. He doesn't even want this version who sleeps with anyone. He wants to find the woman he is being written to love at this time. He's a mob boss and this is something they would do when desperate. Of course it is wrong but he will try anything to help her.
He flat out told Connie he didn't care who she was "Connie, Kate, whoever," were his exact words. That told me everything I needed to know.
Just because he's a mob boss doesn't make it okay. He terrified Connie by having her held against her will, bound and gagged for who knows how long. There is nothing noble or romantic about that. It was disgusting.
I like that for a change. It is unselfish, not selfish.
I think it's the most selfish Sonny has been in a long time.
