That seldom happens. I think those of us who have listened to Maurice do see it as Sonny really wanting to help this woman and it is being written somewhat as one man against all odds on the show trying to reach the woman trapped inside of Connie.

As for Sonny, he is flawed and desperate but his intentions are still far more honorable than most guys dealing with Connie.
