The Catskills are just north of NYC, and VERY far east southeast of PC!! There are Alleghany Mtns. just south of Buffalo. Also, the Adirondack Mtns. are in the northern most part of NY State, about a 4 or 5 hour drive from the 716 area, but realistically is MUCH more ski worthy.
