The last time GH used an earthquake as a plot device it was to make sets smaller (especially the Q's mansion) and kill off a bunch of characters. This time it's being used as a way to force characters who otherwise wouldn't interact (willingly) in scenes together. Rumors are that Wimpy saves Molly in the 999,000 time GH tries to rehabilitate his character. Also, Freako's tales of woe with Kevin are like a conversation that WILL NEVER END. I had to laugh at him using the tumor defense with Harvey. Right, Freako had his tumor when he was 3 years old. Ha ha ha ha I laugh. Thus, the NE United States is once again out of white paint.

Just like folks never got past Ric kidnapping and locking up a pregnant Carly in his panic room, they are not going to get past Freako and his numerous crimes against Jason and Sam, his mother and the guy he put in a cage (the latter two post brain tumor!) or Wimpy abusing, gas lighting and TRYING TO KILL HIS WIFE which was poorly papered up with the lame defense that he was being coerced by his evil sister. Please stop trying the white wash PTB. It insults our intelligence. Let Freako and Wimpy remain the bad guys they are because that is the most believable.

Alexis is a big hypocritical joke. She broke off her friendship with Sonny because her sister died due to violence via mobster Luiz Alkazar. This wasn't a mob hit though. Luiz was targeting both Sonny and Jerx because they were ex loves of his current gal pal Brenda Barrett. So she blames Sonny for her sisters death but remains besties with Jerx. Go figure. Then she hides Kristina from Sonny because MOB DANGER while she marries mob lawyer Ric. But Alexis has now come full circle with her hypocrisy. She is now pleading Wimpy's case for father and grandparent's rights. This for the man who almost ruined her career, abused her, gas lighted her and TRIED TO KILL HER. So she hides Kristina from Sonny over mob danger but she pleads Wimpy's case even though she herself was a victim of Wimpy's mob violence, and almost lost her career because he cowardly compromised her career to save himself.

Last week was a great week for Maurice and Max Gail as actors but it was hankie time for the rest of us. I am so glad GH is shining light on the degenerative disease of alzheimer's and how it affects not just those who suffer from it but how it affects their families, their care givers. Watching those you love suffer from
Alzheimer's is like watching someone die slowly. Victims first lose their memory and eventually organs shut down and that leads to death. The speed of progression can vary, the average life expectancy following diagnosis is three to nine years. Families are left to grapple with the loss of memory, the mood swings, disorientation, lack of motivation to manage self care and eventually the shutting down from the family. It was realistic to show Rita taking a powder. Rita's sobriety is tenuous at best and she is in no way capable of being care giver to Mike. They are not married so she's under no obligation. Like Sonny said, it was good she realized this early on. GH needs to devote time to this story line which means less three second scenes. A big plus for this story line is that it is in very capable hands with Maurice, Max Gail, and Laura Wright.
These heavyweights will do this story line justice, let's hope the writers will also. This is Sonny's best story line in years and I hope it is treated with the same longevity and reverence the way Stone's AIDS story line was treated. Also, please bring Krissy back for at least a visit before Grandpa Mike forgets who she is.
