Blair repeatedly told John that they should end it since Marty had been found alive; John repeatedly brushed Blair off and said that he wanted her, not Marty (who had amnesia and didn't remember or want John). One night Marty called while John/Blair were in bed together. Blair said that if John went to Marty-- like Todd went to Marty in Ireland the day after their Gold Balloon wedding-- that they were over.

Powell snuck into the house and stabbed Blair.

Victodd went for custody because Blair was in the hospital and physically couldn't take care of the kids. Although their relationship was over, John married Blair to protect the kids and out of guilt over leaving her to get stabbed.

(Victodd had gone to Ramsey to get Sam back when Marcie kidnapped him, and John of course couldn't be bothered to stop Marcie because (a) he liked her and (b) Marty/Cole were dragged to Ireland in the middle of the Samnapping. Ramsey then proceeded to use nefarious methods and blackmail Victodd over his complicity. And Ramsey took over Todd/Victodd's penthouse... that was where Ramsey originally stashed Marty before Victodd bought Rapehaus and stashed her there instead after Ramsey's death.)

One day Victodd and Blair-- who had complete custody of the kids-- crossed paths while shopping and Victodd approached Jack. During the ensuing discussion, Victodd's bags and Blair's got confused. Blair found that Victodd had bought a woman's nightgown. She told John and they both wondered what woman Victodd might be hiding...
