I mean, I know... now they really start campaigning, and then come the debates, and them comes the election. But....
The debates did one thing well. The GOP got their base fired up. The Dems got their base fired up. Awesome for them both.
But, what about Independents? What about Repubs that have tendencies to lean left? What about Dems that have tendencies to lean right? When do the candidates start courting them? Because, I seem to remember a LOT of elections where the middle is the biggest group courted. And I don't see that happening this time around.
