Especially in state polling where he still leads in most of the swing states. As I keep saying the thing to remember here is Republicans were ALWAYS going to suck it up and vote for Romney eventually. Whether it was the debate last week, another debate, or a series of events they were going to vote for him. That is what we are seeing happening.
I also think you are unnecessarily freaking yourself out by obsessively poll watching. Obama was where he was back before the convention and that wasn't a bad position then and it isn't a bad position now. His convention bounce lasted longer than I thought it would. The fundamentals of this election still strongly favor Obama.
Finally I think if you thought it was never going to tighten I believe your expectations were too high. As I said above it was ALWAYS going to tighten.
