job as a moderator. I realized that we might have been too hard on Jim Lehrer because I think he honestly expected both Romney and Obama to follow the rules. So when Romney started breaking the rules left and right, like they didn't exist. He was really surprise and didn't know how to react because he wasn't prepare for a presidential candidate to act the way Romney was acting. Even I was surprise at how forceful and disrespectful Romney was acting.
I also think that was part of Obama's problem in the first debate. He didn't expect Romney to act the way he did.
So while I think it is great that we are giving CC and MR credit for doing a great job in the last two debates. I think they benefit from seeing the first debate. So they were prepared to challenge and not back down from Romney's way of debating because they saw how he ran over JL and they didn't want that to happen to them too. Unfortunately for JL he didn't have that benefit.
