I can't remember who it was, but I think it was one of the board's single women.

A key to the outcome of this tight election will be unmarried women, says a prominent Democratic pollster.

Stan Greenberg, who was the pollster for President Bill Clinton and polls for his Democracy Corps organization, shows President Barack Obama with a three-point lead among likely voters, 49% to 46%, in his latest national poll. Speaking at a breakfast sponsored by Third Way, an organization of centrist Democrats, Mr. Greenberg said Mr. Obama also is even or slightly ahead in all the key battleground states.

But the race is tight, he said, and a key will be enthusiasm within each party’s base. For Democrats, Mr. Greenberg said, the key elements of the base are minorities, young voters and unmarried women.
