Because I understand his POV that the GOP wouldn't actually get rid of abortion because I used to agree with it. But that was when I felt the political elites understood that the abortion argument was worth more in fundraising and supported it for that reason.

The politcal elites do not run the GOP any longer. They absolutely are going after women's rights.
