And I don't know if he's doing this deliberately, if he's even capable of it, but certainly as boosted by his team, the message is to try to whip his supporters into a fury, and it's just frustrating and disappointing. I think there are a lot of Dems who don't want to admit this is happening - both because Trump/Project 2025 is such a legitimate danger to our country (and believe me, as a federal employee, I am TERRIFIED of Project 2025) and because we just don't want to face that Biden, who we've always generally trusted to put decency first, has instead put his ego first when he clearly, clearly, clearly should have stepped down. He should have known better. We don't want to admit that what we saw with Reagan and what we've seen and loudly pointed out with Trump's own cognitive issues is also a serious problem with OUR candidate. And so there are plenty of Dems, at least on Liberal Twitter, who are simply not accepting it. They're very loudly and angrily insisting this is an unfair press hit job on Biden, who just had a bad night. And just...no. I mean, yes, the press has a double standard. They always have. Not even necessarily deliberately on the part of outlets like CNN, NYT, WaPo, etc. It's deliberate on the part of Fox News, lol, but not all of them. A lot of press IS insulated in a blue bubble and so they miscalculate how they report elections, considering overly reporting on Democratic issues to be "fair". But we KNEW that, and it was our job to get a candidate who was fireproof against it. And we were not given all the facts about choosing Biden, on top of the STEEP issues trying to oust an incumbent. He needed to voluntarily step down. That's the reality of the situation. He needed to take himself out of the running. That was HIS job. And he failed. And if he loses, he deserves a lot of the blame for it happening.
I still really hope he doesn't lose, to be clear. If he wins and lets Harris take over, fine. I hope the polls are off as they were in 2022 and as they were more recently in France. But that isn't what has happened with Trump in 2016 and 2020 - his chances were underestimated in polls, not overestimated.

And if he loses ā¦ yeah, thatās another statement that made me mad. - AmberRedux - 09-Jul-2024 8:47 AM
