...I was not THRILLED that he was running again, I did think he was too old, but I was a lot more okay with it.

in his presidency. I first noticed his aging 6+ months ago when he was walking and the difficulty he was having speaking, which appeared unrelated to his stutter. I adore Joe. As you said below, it's a similar feeling when you have to take the keys away from a grandparent.

I didn't see the severe decline in his health that I've seen in the last several months, and I hadn't seen him just seemingly have NO concept of how damaging and alienating his approach to the Israeli/Gaza conflict has been to younger voters. Because two things are true - young voters don't vote at nearly the rates they should, AND, Biden would not have won 2020 without the ones who did vote for him. He cannot win 2024 if he's so completely alienated younger voters and Muslim voters. Like, I was seriously worried about Michigan BEFORE this cluster. Then this happened, and I do feel...lied to in a sense. Or misled, at least. And I'm not sure it's Biden himself. It may be his team. I think he's being convinced of things that aren't true. But I think they were working a LOT to hide the extent of his problems.

You hit the nail on the head w/Gaza. My kids are enraged. They will still vote for Biden, but they believe he is completely out of touch with their generation. My son thinks heā€™s old school, and my daughter believes his aides insulate him and Biden doesnā€™t understand or worse, he doesn't care about the consequences of his actions.

I'm sure some people in Congress are skittish about the press. But not Warner, and not Pelosi. They've been around too long, and they know better. If they've taken this step - which is pretty dramatic and dangerous - they're doing it for a good reason.

Pelosi's comments yesterday were telling. I will say this for the Democratic Party: We vigorously debate, unlike the GOP Senators, who would shrug, ā€œI didnā€™t see that text message, so I canā€™t comment.ā€ The Dem. Party is not a cult that will throw out members who disagree with Dear Leader. However, my comfort level needs the healthy debate to end soon for the party to unite before it becomes a circular firing squad.

None of this is to say the press isn't being unfair. They are. But that's nothing new. It's frustrating that no one acknowledges Trump has lost most of his cognitive skills too. It's frustrating they're not paying more attention to Project 2025. But for me, that's apart from what I'm seeing, which is a man who is not mentally or physically capable of completing the term he's running to complete. It's sad, honestly. We've all seen this in our real lives. I'm still kinda traumatized from remembering having to help take my grandma's keys away, which was over 20 years ago.

I wish we lived in a country where Trump raping and sexually assaulting girls within Jeffrey Epsteinā€™s child sex-trafficking ring was treated with half the outrage and gravity of Biden having one bad debate night.

Unfortunately, the media, and if polls are accurate, a segment of Americans have accepted as normal Trumpā€™s psychopathy and declining cognitive ability.

The thing is, I do think some members of Congress who are genuinely concerned for his health are trying to be kind by talking about polls. They don't want to embarrass him. But if he's truly being this stubborn and if they truly believe he's not capable of running, they need to divorce "we don't think he can win" from "We don't think he can run". Say "I have seen X health and cognitive problems and I do not believe he is capable of doing this job." I get not wanting to do that, it's really hard. But some people might listen to that when they're not listening to the "I don't think he can win" narrative. I want to hear that, tbh. Tell me if this is you wanting to keep your job - which is fine, just tell me - or if you genuinely, from your personal experiences with Biden, believe he is no longer cognitively capable of doing this job. A couple of them have said that, but not many.

My head is bobbing up and down in agreement with you.

I believe Biden can do the job. Iā€™ve been watching POTUS POTUSING at the NATO summit, and there isnā€™t a micron of me worried that he will sell the U.S. down the river, embarrass us, or alienate our allies. My stomach was forever in knots when Trump was on the international stage.

I do not believe Biden can effectively campaign. Not once in the debate did he mention P25, attack or provoke Trump. If he canā€™t contrast the two presidencies, we may have a second Trump presidency with him having both chambers. That debate should have been S-V-P25. S-V-Rapist. S-V-Felon. S-V-abortion rights. S-V-P25.

Trump employed the Gish Gallop disinformation technique, which is a rapid series of lies. The gaslighting is especially effective on someone with a stutter. Considering this wasnā€™t the first Trump-Biden debate, how did the WH not properly prepare Biden. WTF was he doing at Camp David for 10 days?

*bangs head on desk*
