I have friends with inside connections who said nothing. Will I still support him based on policy and averting fascism? Yes.
That said, at this point, kicking him off the ticket would be disastrous.
1. Skipping over Kamala? Can kiss Black support goodbye forever. They are our party's base, period. He didn't put her there as a showpiece, either. She is MEANT to be his VP and a future contender.
2. Other Dem pols poll worse against tRump, although I think that IF Kamala became the nominee, her support would grow.
3. The biggest issue is that some states would sue to keep the replacement off the ballot, making things even worse. Could also add to the downballot problems.
I am no longer very hopeful about November, even if it's clear polling is broken. NYT has now admitted twice that the folks picking up are either rural or Republican. No amount of weighting can fix a bad poll.
So--not feeling very good about November now, but it's early days, so who knows.
One more thought - Biden needs to lead by WAY more than 2 (Marist/NBC) to win the Electoral College. Never mind have at least one house on his side were he to win.
Thinking they can squeak by on just PA, WI and MI is insane. We are not just trying to place hold. We need large majorities to enact additional policy change, and right now, I don't see that happening.
