shortly after he'd joined the team, he faked getting a hand off from the quarterback, leapt over the line of scrimmage, landed and broke both his forearms; but it gave the guy who actually had the ball a chance to run around the line of scrimmage which closed in tight to block Emmitt Smith's jump with the non-ball.

The guy who actually had the ball didn't score because the Cardinals sucked; but, Emmitt Smith said, when reporters asked him why he made the leap which resulted in a season-ending injury, "The only way the fake would work was if I fully committed."

Back to President Biden being all in to stay in the race...timing is everything.

Do you recall President Obama's speech/jokes at the White House Correspondents' Dinner the evening that he had authorized the raid against Osama bin Ladin? He dressed in his tux, told his jokes (I think one set was about Donald Trump), stayed and looked like he was having a good time, went back to the Situation Room, got an update, then announced to the country that Seal Team Six had killed OBL. Nobody at the dinner would have known that there was a big operation happening. President Obama looked and acted exactly the same. Very good OPSEC.

We don't know, and may not know until President Biden writes an autobiography/memoir if this was part of an effort to lock in the Republican Party with the candidates they chose and how he'd planned to step down. He looked like he was all in like Emmitt Smith with the Cardinals.
