My response to him was let him? tRUMP does what he wants and surrounds himself with yes men/women. If someone tried to dissuade him from going and he truly wanted to go--DT will get his way every single time. They are not going to question him too much because they want to stay on his good side.
They already worked a miracle for the debate. It was the most subdued I've seen him in recent memory but I am convinced they slipped him an edible 30 minutes before the debate 😉
