I think it comes down to the three governors and governors play well with the electorate. Beyond that they give the ticket "executive experience"
I will, of course, support whoever VP Harris chooses. I still think there is a good chance it is Beshear for a few reasons (and I said all along it will come down to him and Cooper)
- Governor Shapiro has that problematic sexual harassment claim and payout on his record. More than that, though, he has only served 2 years as governor. Also his affectation, either learned or natural, that comes off to me as mirroring President Obama is unsettling to me and something that I think is ripe for mockery. Personally, I think the more we can keep the mockery focused on Trump/Vance the better off we will be. I know the argument for him is that he delivers PA but it should be noted that it has been since LBJ that a VP clearly delivered a state.
- Governor Walz has become the darling of the progressive left and choosing him will look like VP Harris is caving to their demands. They really shot themselves in the foot with going all in for him.
As for Governor Beshear, while he isn't from a swing state, he will "play well" in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
