Here is the interview
with the stress of campaigning. Still, he's not the man he was two years ago, never mind four. The stress of the presidency and Hunter's legal woes aged Biden dramatically.
My thoughts: It ticked me off all over again. While President Biden was better rested and more focused in this interview than he has been in a long time, he still was not coherent as he should have been. Imagine if he was still in the race and hadn't been able to rest up what a disaster it would have been?
I believed Biden when he said he would be a one-term president, but honestly, he has proven to be the most effective POTUS in my lifetime. Sorry, Obama. When Joe said he was running again, I thought his policies earned him a second term. I was never comfortable with Biden's age, but I never doubted his mental acuity. I'm still unable to explain how a twice-impeached rapist and felon was ahead in the polls.
When I saw Biden get off the plane to hug his son post-verdict, I was alarmed by his gait and overall decline. The debate, though. Oof. That was disturbingly eye opening. Thankfully, it was Biden in the Oval Office who decided to put the country before himself. I can't imagine another president other than Carter who would have done the same.
As for the blame being heaped on Pelosi, I think it is unfair and tinged with misogyny.
This is fair, and I'm guilty of doing this because I felt gaslighted by Pelosi, Schumer, etc. about Biden's condition. For me, it was less about misogyny and more about having too much faith in Pelosi. Of all the politicians, she's the one whom I look to for direction because her finger has always been on the pulse.
