Back in the late 90's two of my Phillies (Darren Daulton and Jim Eisenreich) went to the Miami Marlins. They were set to play the Cleveland Indians in the World Series. My family in Youngstown, Ohio had club seats to all the local Cleveland and Pittsburgh sports venues (for business reasons). I called my cousin Joe who was in charge of all that and begged to go to one of the WS games. He gladly gave us one of them. I flew into Cleveland, my cousin Alyson picked me up and we went to Jacobs Field where we met my aunt and uncle who had driven up from Y-town. It was sooooooo cold, I was wearing my full length down coat and gloves, etc. But it was so much fun being at a WS game and seeing "my guys" close up.
So it was a tie game in the 9th inning and.......we.left......a.tied.world.series.game.
My family (obvi) could have not cared less about baseball. They were there because I wanted to go. My uncle was like, "We'll hear the ending in the car radio on the way home. We have to go to work tomorrow". 😂
If it had been my Phillies playing the Indians I would have said, "See ya!" and taken a cab back to my cousin's house, lol.
