a safe destination anymore. This was originally feeling like it was a dangerous place to visit if you were trans or pregnant, but since a Canadian with an error in her visa paperwork has been detained (in what has vaguely been called "inhumane conditions") since March 3rd, only being allowed to return to Canada yesterday, people are now very broadly worried it's just flat out dangerous and likely to get more so.
Add in the "fingerprinted if you are there for over 30 days" rule and people who weren't already boycotting are moving into fear. I've never been afraid to go to the US but now it honestly feels like a really bad idea.
