I get it...Rumpy was a coward in his old life, his wife left him and he lost his son...all this I found out in the other Rumpy backstory.
Belle is still somewhat uninteresting. Maybe with her being more of a part of Storybrooke she will find her voice...oops, seems like she's gone back to being an appendage of Rumpy's if that ending is any indication.
The Rumpy backstories remind me of the Regina backstories...trying too hard. Let them be evil...it works for them.
As for the Rumpy/Belle romance...as someone said down below...they seem like father/daughter.
Hook was so not interesting...I wanted him to at least be mysterious...but he's just an heavy eyeline wearing dude who ran away with someone's wife and someone's mother without a second glance back. Oh well...now he's after Rumpy...I don't see this ending well for him.
All in all, a lackluster episode...though I did like the Rumpy/Charming/Ruby stuff. And I'm very happy that EdR dyed her hair brown...that wig she wore last season was pretty bad.
I can't wait for next week, not because it's another round of "Oh poor Regina...she's had it soooo hard!"...but because I like the actor playing Whale and I really want to see what they do with that.
