Glad to have a Rumple episode. But the 'dark one' seems to embody all sorts of would be villainy that turns out to not be so evil. Or at least lesser evils. The Beast. Now the crocodile that ate Hook's hand. Is that supposed to mean that Rumple isn't unredeemable?
You ask this after the ep in which he pulled out his ex-wife's heart and crushed it? :-(
I'm not sure, because he has truly done some awful things. But I have loved every piece of his backstory that I have gotten.
I love it largely because it is so ugly and heartbreaking and RC is a genius.
And my shallow note...I LOVE the name Baelfire. I wonder if Rumple will ever find him.
He will. And then the trouble will start. :-(
I know I'm in the minority but I am so hooked on the story of Rumple and Belle. Unlike the Charmings, they are an unknown. It is really unclear if they can ever make this work. If Rumple can ever control his baser nature or if Belle can accept him as he is and still love him and be with him.
I'm not sure it's a minority, except on SZ. But yes, that is part of what I love about them too.
I absolutely LOVE Belle standing up to Rumple and her father and walking away from both men that want to control and possess her.
On the one hand it was fabulous. On the other hand, I really don't think we got enough background on why she was pissed off at Gold. It seemed like one bad dream did it. Obviously the back story told us she should run like the wind from him, but it didn't seem like BELLE should know that.
I like her making friends with Ruby.
Ruby and Belle = BFFs forever. Except that I also love Red/Snow as BFFs. I want Four Musqueteers shenanigans with Snow/Emma/Red/Belle.
And the last scenes with Belle just melted my heart. I love him giving her the library, so to speak. Just like Beast. I liked how he opened up to her a little and explained the root of everything he'd done. Maybe telling the story of his lost son is a tad manipulative but I also think it was the truth. Losing his son (which was a choice he made) drives everything he does.
I honestly don't think he was trying to manipulate her. He was trying to give her what she needed. Because he wants her to be happy even if he's not very good at causing it.
Enjoyed the scenes with Charming and Gold while looking for Belle.
Best bromance on this show.
Cora and Hook schemeing together to exact revenge can only end ugly. :/ But Hook is interesting. I wish we got to see more of Neverland. Peter...Wendy...Tink?
My dream is that Bae is Peter. And Morraine can be Tinkerbell!
Great episode for me. I appreciated the break from Emma.
