The stigma? I can't tell you how useless that is, how useless it's ALWAYS been. Girls got pregnant 40 years ago the same way they do now- they just got mysteriously sent away, or had illegal abortions, or had to marry some guy they hardly knew and are probably divorced now. And that's still happening in Catholic school now- all those scenarios happened to girls I know in high school. I have two friends who were divorced before 25. Kids have sex at a similar- or sometimes even higher- rate in abstinence-only schools, but pregnancy rates are higher, as are STD rates, because they don't know how to protect themselves.
