I've seen the Sobhani ads (the independent guy) and a few for Cardin (the Democrat - his ads are SO cheesy, with 'My Friend Ben' as the catch phrase).
The Republican running, Bongino, lives in my county and resigned from working for the Secret Service to run for Senate. In a blue state, MD, that hasn't had a Republican senator in over 40 years. The other day my husband and I were out and heard on the radio that he had resigned from his job to run and would apparently lose or lessen his pension, and my husband said "what an idiot. I was thinking of voting for him, but I don't want someone that dumb representing Maryland"
I agree with him that it didn't make sense that the guy would quit his job (rather than take a leave of absence) to run for Senate in a heavily blue state, and with little money - like I said in the topic, I saw the very first ad for him on tv today. Otherwise I've only seen signs for him. I was more surprised, though, that hubby had been thinking of voting for him. I mean really.
