It had nothing to do with the "almost" arrest. He explained at the scene that although the car is not in her name, if something "happens" (as in tickets) in a car, the car will forever be tied to the driver at the time. So yeah...be careful who you let drive your car! Heaven forbid I would have left my purse which is also something I've done on short trips.

He was just here to tell me that the tag on my car is licensed to a 2008 red car but the "sticker" is valid for a 2011 red car. I asked why he didn't bring that up at the scene (thinking he's here to ARREST me!), he said he did but I honestly don't remember it.

Of course I didn't understand what he was taking about so he asked me to look at the computer in his car. I was like WHAT? No. He laughed and said, I'm not here to arrest you just come here so I can show you.

Sure enough the DUMB ASS DMV person registered the WRONG car!!! I lease vehicles through my employer and change cars every year (or sometimes two or three years).

My last car was also red but it was a 2008 model. Instead of renewing my red 2011 model, she renewed my 2008 model!!!

He didn't give me a ticket or anything, he just wanted to let me know to get to the DMV asap. I joked and said my new model is in and I will be picking it up next week and it's NOT red. He said, "then technically we never had this conversation and it's no longer your problem to fix."

LOL! I've always been so intimidated by cops but he wasn't like a cop at all.
