They're saying the impact to our area (central VA) should be similar to Irene last year, so I'm waiting for the ridiculous rain and the power to be out. We only lost power for about two days last year, so I guess my area was lucky. I have enough non-perishable food to be okay for a few days. Plenty of candles. A case of bottled water (bought last week because I was almost out...not just because of the storm). There were no batteries to be found, so hopefully my flashlights work (need to find them). Charging my laptop so that if my phone goes dead, I can hook the USB to that and drain power for my phone off my laptop. This is my first storm with a smart phone and it sucks the battery much, much faster than my old dumb phone!!!
