I don't think George Lucas damaged the Star Wars franchise.

Unlike some, I liked the prequels, but even if I didn't, it wouldn't affect how I felt about the original films.

Also, I purchased the VHS trilogy set, when they came out on dvd...when the special versions came out on dvd, the prequels and then the Star Wars Saga on blu ray.

For me, nothing was damaged.
