a while but never lost power. We're just a couple blocks from the water in two directions, NY harbor on one side and the narrows on another side. Not in Zone A. No evacuation. Sandy was wild but we're on high ground above that water and all is well here. The wind was scary up here but the roof and windows are all still where they should be. Serious cabin fever but we still have our "cabin". Perspective is a wonderful thing.
It's heartbreaking watching all that so many are going through from Sandy. I can't stop thinking about the mother on Staten Island who was making a run for it to safety with her 2-yr old in her arm and her 4-yr old by the hand when they got hit by a big wave in the street and the two kids were lost. :-((((( So many heartbreaking Sandy stories.
Sandy does remind me of both Katrina and 9/11. :-((((
