then it came BACK again!
it was on when i woke up this morning.
no cable, but that's a small price to pay.
unfortunately, no one else on my street has power. we get out juice from a different line, and that line was restored around 7:30pm last night.
we ended up having to drive about 20 minutes north yesterday to get gas for my car and for the gas jugs that power the generator.
$96 on gas, and the power came back 12 hours later.
Murphy's Law, right?
Friday i kind of hit the wall with this no electricity thing. Yes, we have a generator and we are lucky to have not lost anything in the storm, but it still wears you down.
there's so much more to think about, living your life in 5 hour clips - we can be gone for 5 hours before the fridge starts to warm up, we can run the generator at full blast for 5 hours before we have to refill. Who can leave work early on any given day? what are we going to eat, since we have no REAL food in the fridge?
your mind just gets tired of constantly running scenarios about what is going to happen, who is going to do it and when does it need to get done?
I'm on the phone with cable right now and they're informing me that i should have cable restored "at some point this week," which makes me want to scream.
but the worst is over.
now we just have to make sure we've got lots of dry wood for the upcoming "Nor'easter" on Wed/Thurs.
