typically on thanksgiving my entire family goes to my maternal grandparents house to have dinner. It's in Massachusettes, so we drive 2.5 hours up and 2.5 back.
it's a LOOONG day, but we've been doing it for so long, i hardly notice the drive, it's just part of "Thanksgiving Day."
My older sister and her family come up every other year, and this the 'off' year.
We've had a lot of family gatherings this year, so we don't feel the pull to drive up to Mass like we usually do.
younger sister (the one with the twins) wants to stay at home and cook for her family.
*I* don't want to cook for anyone.
My mother doesn't want to cook for anyone.
So we just decided to get together for dessert in the late afternoon, when the twins get up from their nap.
i mean, thanksgiving is mostly about the desserts, right? lol
