they must realize how horrible it would be for Ted to have later STILL feelings for one of his best friend's fiancee. Man, I hope I'm not giving them too much credit.
So yay!!! it took way too long, but finally that part is over.
And as potentially emotionally wacked as it was, I still really liked The Robin and was pretty awwww when Robin and Barney got together at the end. Part of that for ms is NPH's ability to just have Barney wear his heart on his sleeve, despite whatever potentially morally questionable the character just did. That really there is a heart there, and sometimes a good one. Or at least in this case, one that really does love Robin.
Oh and let me say that I think that Robin wasn't manipulated, per se. Yes, he was fake dating Patrice, but Robin was the one that, predictably, would push Barney away if he made a move. Or that if he said he wasn't going to chase her, that she would want him more. That she would want to sabotage his relationship. That upon hearing that he was going to marry someone else, that she would want to stop it.
Thank goodness that Barney was working with Patrice, because if it has been real, Robin still would have acted the way she did, and that would have actually been fairly crappy. Which is why I think Robin and Barney are actually a good match for each other. Among other reasons.
