good friends is in her early 70s and, when my sis and I were in Florida for 5 weeks recently, this woman’s work schedule was 21 days straight without a day off. She works for H&R Block doing people’s taxes. Before tax season, she was working 8-hour shifts on her feet at Publix supermarket 5x a week. And she is working this much because she needs the money, not because she wants to.
At the same time, ageism is real. I hope you find something that you can be happy in or, at least, not mind doing, soon. And if you end up in a job you don’t like, remember that you have mastered quitting a bad job.
