disliking Hawaii reminded me of a story...while bff and I were on the island of Kauai back in '95, we went on a zodiac boat excursion. The guide was an affable young man named Ben...I remember his name because of the story he told us after we returned. He told us of another excursion in which an elderly woman (with a very thick Southern accent, which he imitated when telling the story) asked him "Ben, do you ever get tired of the beauty?" (the beauty of the island). And he looked at her, straight-faced, and replied "Yes ma'am, it disgusts me" before breaking into a grin. Bff and I joke about that even now...like really, how does one get "tired" of the beauty of the Hawaiian islands?
