tell folks to see their doctor (I figure it's up to them to make the call) but because you've never had them before, maybe there's something the doctor can do to either uncover your "triggers" (what causes your migraines) or what you can do to get some relief.
I had the opposite experience from you: I had a few migraines as a teen and then haven't had one since (though I do get bad sinus headaches on occasion...a while back, a few doctors were espousing the theory that there's no such thing as sinus headaches, and "sinus" headaches are usually either tension headaches or migraines). Anyways, my migraines consisted of head pain, nausea, and a weird distortion of my sight in which part, but not all, of my field of vision would go wavy. Very disconcerting. A lie-down in a dark room for a few hours plus either heat or cold on my forehead (depending on how I felt) and a few aspirin usually took care of my migraines.
