(not my first choice...or second...or third...but it's at least *slightly* better than Denny's, which she was also considering). On Saturday, if the forecast is accurate, bff and I will be brunching at the place I wanted to go to with Sis and BIL (before they, as usual, blew up the plan) and then go out to Lakeside Cemetery to check out Daffodil Hill [link] Neither of us have ever been to Lakeview Cemetery when the daffodils are blooming...I hope we're not too late. If we are, then we can always visit the plot where a bunch of Dad's long gone relatives are buried (it's either my great grandparents and her family or my great-great grandparents...I'd have to think about it). Also out that way is Coventry; when Sis and BIL come up, they always go to Grum's for subs. I have no desire for a Grum's sub but I told Sis and BIL that if they go to Coventry, I wanted to go with them so I could stop at Koko's Bakery and get some red bean paste sesame balls and iced Vietnamese coffee. Well, they DID get their Grum's, and I WAS with them...but we went so late in the day, Koko's was sold out of almost everything. Hopefully they'll have more stuff Saturday.

Yesterday, I took the car to a dealership 40 minutes away to have the 30,000 mile maintenance service done. There's a dealership much closer but a) this one is where I got my car and they often send me coupons for so much off service, b) a cousin lives just minutes away; last September, when I used a coupon for a free oil change, she met me afterwards for lunch, and c) they do good work. This time, Cuz picked me up after I dropped the car off and we went for a nice walk in a local park and then back to her home so I can see her finished kitchen. She and her hubby did most of the work; they actually moved the kitchen from the back of the house to the front of the house, and while I think the placement is a bit odd (as does Cuz), it's admittedly a gorgeous kitchen with a lot of really nice features. While we were driving to Cuz's house, the dealership called...they had actually finished up early. I'd asked them to look into why my blind spot collision warning system doesn't always work properly (sometimes it disables itself when I'm on the freeway, where it would be useful, and sometimes when I'm on the freeway, it'll beep at me when I change lanes even though there's no other car around for a mile or two). I told them I'd like a diagnosis if possible, but I'm unemployed and can't afford a pricey repair for a system I don't really need anyways. I drove for almost 40 years without a blind spot collision warning system...I can do so now <g>. Anyways, the dealership called to tell me I had a small dent in my rear bumper right about where the BSCW system was--probably from the car getting dinged in a parking lot or something--and just to diagnose it, they'd have to take off the entire bumper and charge me $225, and did I want to do that? Uh, no. Maybe later, when I'm working again...and have another coupon.

My plan for tomorrow? Is to have as little contact with people as possible. I was never a social butterfly, and as I age, I find I crave shorter amounts of time being around people and more time "recharging my social battery" or whatever. Having Sis and BIL here since Friday, and HERE here for three days, just about did me in, socially speaking, and then fool that I am, I went out with Auntie twice since then and spent time with Cuz yesterday. Heck, I might not even talk to Dad tomorrow <g>.
