Last week, a local grocery store had Tillamook ice cream on sale. I was only vaguely aware of the brand before now but Sis raves about their ice cream...anyways, I picked up a carton of their Mountain Huckleberry flavor and Oh. M. Gee. It is amazing. The tartness of the ripple of huckleberry running through the ice cream is nicely offset by the sweet, creamy vanilla. It's all I can do to eat only a scoop or two at a time; I really want to just sit down and polish off the entire half gallon in one sitting <g>. I also have 7-Up's new Shirley Temple flavor (which is surprisingly less sweet than I was expecting) and have made several floats using it and the huckleberry ice cream. Delicious!

OTOH...I was at the discount grocery store and saw a box of Eat Your Mouth Off cereal in "fruity pebble" flavor. At first I chuckled a little at the box's boast of being "100% plant based"--it's not like there's Beef Chex or Chicken Cheerios in the cereal aisle--but then I realized that's to assure vegans there's no honey to sweeten the cereal. I'm glad the box only cost me around $1 because the cereal is nasty. The taste is actually quite good but--and I almost never use this word--the "mouthfeel" is disgusting. Ever see one of those dissolving styrofoam packing peanuts? The kind that sort of melt under a stream of water? Well, I've never eaten one of those but I feel that's similar to what the cereal was doing in my mouth with each bite. I ate about three bites, spit the last bite out because it felt so gross in my mouth and then tossed the cereal and just drank the milk.
