It still needs caulking, but it's in place and hooked up for water in and out. Once it's caulked, the workers won't need to go back into my daughter's room/living space. It's a former master bedroom suite, so it has a bedroom with a closet attached to a bathroom area with a vanity with a sink and faucet that need to be replaced and the toilet that's next to the bath/shower. The bedroom and most of the bathroom have been replaced/upgraded; but the vanity won't be replaced until I have the other bathroom done so they'll look like they know each other.
DOORS The side door with the dog door, a single door, sticks or something. There may be an issue with the threshold. They need to fix that. They also need to replace one part of the frame because it was cut wrong. The door between the kitchen and the new room that doesn't have the dog door (It had two holes for fixtures and now has one hole. They had to replace the two-hole door with a one-hole door.) doesn't close completely. It's a tiny bit too big or something, so it doesn't get completely seated, even if you lean on it. The deadbolt lock on the double doors that lead into the yard wouldn't fully seat, so they had to punch a hole in a piece of plastic behind the latch plate. The deadbolt latches now.
The guy working here today just caulked the toilet. My daughter can't use the toilet for about 24 hours, so she'll probably sleep on the couch again tonight...but it should be the last night!
Tomorrow, more touch up painting. No word on the tile delivery or installation; but they should also put in the vent for the dryer. Looking really nice.
My concrete guy was supposed to come at 2:00pm, but canceled and rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. I'm out most of tomorrow morning. The HVAC guys are trying to coordinate the installation of the mini split in the new space (Number 7). Only one more to go, but it's on hold until I get the bathroom remodeled...in the future. I plan to pay them half of what I owe them ($2K).
Leaping forward. I still have minutes to type for a meeting tomorrow. I've been invited to a Zoom meeting at a church member's house this evening. I daughter offered to go Giving Tree shopping, but I have too many things on my plate. The gifts aren't due until the tenth, so I'm not going to panic.
