Even though you didn't want to buy a new car. When the tariffs kick in, you've probably saved yourself several thousand dollars.
I definitely need one, and have for a while. It's long past due for me to get a vehicle with AWD. And the car I'm buying (2025 Subaru Forester Sport 🤞🏻 it's still in transit so hopefully this week) is still made in Japan and not in the US so it would definitely be hit with more tariffs. And I know I'm fortunate, in that it's not that I don't have the money - I just don't want to spend the money 😂 I've been in the position where I didn't really have it - when I bought my current vehicle - and that's probably why I didn't get an SUV back then.
Mr. Kris is going to need a car in the next year or so too, but he prefers buying used so hopefully the tariffs won't hit those vehicles as badly. Funny story, we went yesterday and test drove the Forester and a Mazda CX-50 (I had narrowed it down to those two) and he preferred the Mazda - pretty sure that's going to be his next car!
