My dad passed right after Christmas (Dec. 28th) and some years I have to make a lot of effort to celebrate and not have it bring me down. I love Christmas usually, and he did too, and I know he wouldn't want his death to ruin Christmas for the family.
My mom really loves Christmas too and this year with her being in the hospital it's hard. She keeps worrying about gifts even though we've all told her that her getting better is all the gift we need. My brother is taking a little Christmas tree over to her hospital room today to try and cheer her up.
