a big screen with a good sound system and an audience. I was a little resistant to going because they split the Broadway musical into two movies. The second act sequel will be released a year from now. No doubt that decision is a money grab. But I’m hoping that they really have expanded the second act enough to justify making one musical into two movies. The second movie is already shot and in post-production. I mean, Les Miserables could fit into one movie but Wicked couldn’t? I have not seen the Broadway production but I did read the novel it’s based on a long time ago, which I liked. I’m generally much more of a straight play person than a musical person, but Wicked (the movie) was a fun evening with some nice surprises. If you want to see this movie, try not to get spoiled first by reading too much about it first. I didn’t read any reviews or social media discussions before going and I’m glad I wasn’t spoiled about one thing in particular.
