6 movies in theaters in the last 5 weeks. I don’t think any of the screenings I went to were sold out. But some were maybe 90% full, depending on the movie and the day/evening I went. Last night I saw Queer based on the William S Burroughs novel. Daniel Craig was terrific. It was Saturday evening and the theater was about 80% full. I’ve been going out to the movies since theaters reopened after the pandemic but sporadically. Now I’m back to going out to the movies, on average, once a week. I like a cozy night at home on the couch watching a movie like everyone else. And I do that plenty. But it is not the same as going out to the movies. Went to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants after the movie for margaritas and a late dinner at 10pm and the place was packed.
I don’t understand people who seem to want to do everything from their couch.
