It's 80 pages so I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet, but what I have gotten through is BLEAK. Truly a "pull the curtains" back look at how ruthless these PR teams can be. JB's was known for being particularly vicious but even by those standards, these text messages are mind-boggling. Two FEMALE members of this PR team talk about a coordinated attack on Blake on social media, they brag about "killing it on Reddit", and they even have an exchange about how easy it is to start these things because "people just love to hate women". There's back and forth about Justin "feeling more comfortable" if he knew he could "bury" Blake. This team is extremely aware of how to get a hate train on social media started, and they were very effective at doing it. It's enlightening, despite being awful. So many things that go viral are not organic at all, and I doubt even one of us could honestly say we've never been manipulated by such a thing. I know I can't say that.

Also, the reports of Justin's behavior onset are INSANE. It's obvious Blake has receipts, she has several witnesses. There are at least two other accounts of Justin being reported by other women on the set for sexual harassment. And Justin's team had even said a few months ago when this started becoming noticeable that Blake had "hit Justin with a long list of unreasonable demands." Well, the list is here. It's long, to be sure - but it shouldn't be unreasonable unless you are INSANE, which apparently Justin is. Trying to force her to strip in the birth scene, refusing on closed sets, busting into her trailer while she was breastfeeding despite repeatedly being told to stop, calling her sexy and hot until he was asked to stop and then immediately talking about how he didn't even find her attractive. Offering to send her to a doctor that he had on retainer after she got strep throat and instead sending her to a WEIGHT LOSS doctor (what in the actual ****????). Telling her he was communing with her dead father?! Again. What in the actual ****.

None of this is even really about Blake, who has been problematic on her own. It's how easily a huge chunk of the internet fell for a very coordinated attack. It's how insidious these PR firms are (hilariously, this one is part-owned by none other than Scooter Braun). It's wondering what kind of chance a regular working actress who isn't a household name has, when Blake was far more famous and powerful than Justin and that did not protect her from this ****. He still felt entirely entitled to endlessly harass her, along with other women on set, and when it became clear that he'd alienated the rest of the cast in the process, he hired a terrible PR team not really to protect himself, but simply to destroy her.
