with the idea that, in general, many fans only want to see a repeat winner when it's "their" team doing the winning. The Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl five times in the last six years and won three times. It's like how some fans hated the Lakers in the 80s when they kept winning or hated the Bulls in the 90s when they kept winning...or hated the Yankees in the late 90s/2000 when they kept winning <g>. I think it's simple human nature to resent the people who are always winning, especially when it's at the expense of someone you want to win.
IMO, the Chiefs are problematic for two other reasons; first, as CanaryFan said below, there's the connection to Taylor Swift. A lot of hardcore football fans got annoyed when so much of the attention during SB weekend fell on TS and her bf Travis Kelce and, rightly or wrongly, thought the networks devoted too much time to shots of TS cheering in her luxury loge and not enough time breaking down stats or focusing on the players or whatever (plus, just like some folks hate the Chiefs for being "too successful", some hate TS for being likewise). And second, in an era where teams have dumped problematic monikers--including my Guardians--the Chiefs have remained the Chiefs, and some fans still do the tomahawk chop, which many find offensive.
