On a semi-related note, my family has several in-jokes related to things kids have said...and not even necessarily kids we KNOW. At least 30 years ago, maybe more, my folks and I were at Millcreek Mall, inside the Woolworth's, when we witnessed a small child bring a tacky plastic statue of some kind over to his mom. He slyly told his mother "Somebody said I could have this". She barely looked at what was in his hands, simply replying "Nobody said you could have that". The kid then loudly and earnestly proclaimed "Everybody said I could have this!" For years after, and even to this very day, we'd be in a store and one of us would bring something over and say "Somebody said I could have this"...
